The biggest problem that I have is the weight. It is extremely noticeable between the 14/17 and the 1903 (mine is an A3). As far as accuracy and such, they are pretty much the same. I do know from working on a lot of surplus firearms that there are more good quality parts (most times new) for the 1903 family than there is for the the 14/17s.
